Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.

Day to Day activities may include supporting biomechanical testing and analysis efforts including reviewing the literature, drafting proposals, data collection, algorithm development, custom-written analyses in MATLAB and other languages, and drafting dissemination materials.
Intern will work with numerous different technologies for service and research analyses across numerous projects including 3D motion capture, force plates, EMG, instrumented treadmill, and wearables. Applications include gait analysis, quantitative rehabilitation, baseball, golf, running, tennis, and more.
Interns will work closely with the biomechanics team to plan and execute research studies.
Interns may work on several projects at once related to department objectives.
May be asked to support cleaning, maintaining, and preparing laboratory work areas.
Experience with machine learning, algorithm development, and wearables is preferred.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Movement Science, Kinesiology, Mechanical Engineering, or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors, a graduate student pursuing one of the previously listed majors, or a medical student.
Strong communication skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment in a team atmosphere
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in MATLAB or similar programming language
Proficiency with Visual 3D
